What’s Changed

Reply CMP v0.8.0 is a pivotal FinOps release: we extend multi‑cloud coverage to Google Cloud Platform and evolve the former Finances module into a full FinOps experience aligned to the Assess → Allocate → Analyze (Optimize / Monitor in preview) lifecycle. Cost allocation, organizational modeling, and analytics have been significantly re‑architected to enable scalable financial governance.

🚀 New Features

  • Google Cloud Platform Support (GCP): You can now onboard GCP projects alongside Azure subscriptions and AWS accounts. Discovery, cost ingestion (including BigQuery billing export), tagging, and connection‑level (unallocated) costs are unified in the multi‑cloud views.

  • Finances → FinOps Module Transformation: The module has been renamed and refactored around FinOps phases (Assess, Allocate, Analyze). Navigation and UI components updated accordingly.

  • Allocation Workspace: Cost allocation is now an explicit phase. Historical “groups” management has moved out of Discovery and into FinOps.

  • Organizational Hierarchies: Build a nested group tree that mirrors your internal organization (e.g. Company → Business Unit → Product → Team). Each node supports:

    • Owner assignment

    • Budget definition (periodic) with real‑time burn tracking

  • Environments & Projects Dimensions: Define reusable Environment (e.g. dev, qa, prod) and Project entities. These act as orthogonal allocation dimensions that you can combine with organizational hierarchy for richer slicing.

  • Advanced Allocation Mapping: Resources and connection-level costs can be mapped simultaneously to (Group Hierarchy + Environment + Project) enabling multi-dimensional accountability.

  • Enhanced Analyze Phase: Powerful analytical surface with:

    • Multiple grouping combinations (up to 2 concurrent: e.g. Group Level + Environment, Provider + Project, Tag + Resource Type)

    • Expanded filters: Providers, Connections, Categories, Custom Groups, Resource Types, Resource Names, Tags, Date Ranges

    • Granularity options: Daily, Weekly, Monthly plus Actual vs Amortized cost perspective

    • Connection-Level Cost visibility for all three clouds

  • Terminology & UI Refresh: Consistent FinOps language, updated badges, provider icons (now includes GCP), and phase progress indicators.

  • CMP Agent (formerly WelkinBot): Upgraded conversational assistant powered by MCP enabling natural language queries across resources, allocations, and costs.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Corrected occasional double counting of connection-level Azure charges in edge amortization scenarios.

  • Fixed AWS cost ingestion race condition causing intermittent day gaps.
